Melissa Himmel Twomey
Principal, founder
Melissa Himmel Twomey founded VisionArt Consulting in 2000 sourcing art for private, corporate, hospitality and healthcare clients, as well as for interior designers and the architectural community. After graduating from Boston College with a degree in Art History, Melissa earned her MFA at Boston University in Studio Teaching with a concentration in Printmaking. As a working artist/printmaker, Melissa exhibited her work in the gallery she managed on Newbury Street in Boston before launching her own private art placement firm in 2000. Melissa has over 20 years of experience in the international art market, and an expertise in modern and contemporary art. With an emphasis on education, Twomey leads clients through the labyrinth of the art world, helping them develop their knowledge of art history, satisfy their intellectual curiosity and hone their eye. While clients discover their passion for specific objects and artists, Twomey’s long-standing relationships with top international art galleries, museum curators, and private dealers, ensures her access to the best material available on the market.
Sophie Bennett
Art Curation and Project Manager
Sophie Bennett brings a strong background in art history and a passion for connecting people to art to the VisionArt team. During Sophie’s undergraduate studies in Georgetown University’s art history program, she expanded the university’s special collections’ database of women printmakers. In the summer of 2022, she completed an internship with the head of conservation at Château Vaux-le-Vicomte, the aesthetic predecessor of Versailles. Upon completing her degree at Georgetown, she was invited to deliver an art history focused speech for the Senior Convocation ceremony. Sophie currently sits on the Director’s Council of Georgetown University Art Galleries, where she is also pursuing a Master’s Degree in Art and Museum Studies. As an Art Curation and Project Manager, Sophie creates social media content, researches artworks, and manages projects, from initial artwork proposals to installation. Her love of art across aesthetic styles and contexts motivate her commitment to serving both artists and clients.
